- Small Block
- Moderate Budget
A young builder, who was to become our regular client, had a vision and motivation to create his own project. The Staghorn residence grew and evolved into a bungalow style house with a provincial look that would be appealing to buyers. Zaher architects, with the builder, were able to create a beautiful home with a moderate budget.
Being a small block subdivision that required careful negotiation of the small street frontage as well as all the design strategies required to make a home feel vast within an urban context (urban as far as the Byron Shire goes!). The project evolved from a house to a house and studio, and then to a house studio and pool. The block was an irregular shape the brief called for two living areas, a successful layout resulted within these tight working constraints.
The outcomes is a warm, stylish, bright home that very much within the vernacular of Bangalow. Although this home is in a high density area privacy was designed into the project and as a result a sense of serenity prevails.
